Chair’s Report to JUMP Families
This year has reminded us, once again, why JUMP exists: to help children with life-limiting health
conditions and their families create special memories, feel part of a supportive community, and
know that they are not facing difficult journeys alone.
A Year of Memories and Connection
Between April 2025 and March 2026, JUMP delivered 93 memory photography shoots for
families. These sessions are at the heart of what we do. They give families time together,
captured with care and dignity, and create lasting photographs and memories that can be
treasured for years to come.
We also held 11 family events during the year. These events continue to be hugely valued, giving
children, siblings, parents and carers the opportunity to spend time together in a welcoming
and understanding environment. With a maximum of 30 children at each event, demand is now
regularly higher than the places available, which shows both how important these days are and
how much families value the chance to come together.
The Pride of JUMP Awards ceremony was another important moment in the year. It gave us the
opportunity to celebrate the courage, personality and achievements of the children and families
in our community, and to recognise the people who help make JUMP’s work possible.
The Value JUMP Brings
JUMP is more than a programme of activities. For many families, it offers a sense of belonging,
understanding and reassurance. The photography shoots help capture precious moments,
while the family events create space for friendship, fun and shared experience. Together, these
services help families make memories in the present and hold on to them for the future.
Supporters and Fundraising
We are extremely grateful for the support we continue to receive from our partners and donors.
This year, JUMP has been supported by TDSynnex and Prosperity Network, and we have also
received sizeable donations from the London Marathon and UK Plumbing Services. Their
generosity helps us continue to deliver services that make a real difference to families.
Sadly, this year see’s our current Treasurer Rob stepping down from the Board. We would like to
recognise Rob’s outstanding contribution to JUMP. During his time with the charity, he
transformed the way we manage and understand our financial information, giving the Board
greater clarity and confidence. He also stepped in to support fundraising activity, including
representing JUMP at very short notice at a Prosperity Network Gala dinner. Rob will be greatly
missed, and we are very thankful for everything he has given to the charity.
Navigating Change
This year has seen JUMP navigate some uncharted waters. As a Board, we took on additional
responsibilities while our Charity Development Manager, Harriet, went on maternity leave
following a long period of sick leave for a very special reason. We are delighted for Harriet and
her family, and we are pleased that JUMP was able to continue supporting families throughout
this period. The Board would particularly like to thank Kate, who stepped in to take on some of the Charity
Development Manager’s work, even while preparing to welcome her first child. Her support
helped make the transition as smooth as possible, and we hope families felt that JUMP was able
to continue with business as usual.
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead, our focus is to protect and strengthen the services families value most: memory
photography, family events and the sense of community that sits behind them. The growing
demand for our family events shows that JUMP is meeting a real need, and it also challenges us
to keep building the support, partnerships and funding needed to reach as many families as we
can.
On behalf of the Board, thank you to every family, supporter, volunteer, photographer, donor and
partner who has been part of JUMP this year. Most importantly, thank you to our JUMP families
for allowing us to be part of your lives. You are the reason the charity exists, and everything we
do is about helping you create memories, share experiences and feel supported.

"I will always be so so thankful to JUMP for capturing Oliver’s first birthday photos."
JUMP are just like family to us. The Family Memorable Days my son loves attending as you feel part of one big family and meeting other families going through the same thing makes me feel very relaxed. I will always be so so thankful to JUMP for capturing Oliver’s first birthday photos. At a time where we felt that we would not be able to capture Oliver’s first birthday as we were in hospital, JUMP swooped in and helped create the most beautiful photos for Oliver’s first birthday. I remember the photographer rearranging the whole hospital room around to get the best photos.
Amelia, Oliver's Mum
"The days feel carefree and safe and give us much needed precious family time where all of my children are celebrated"
The JUMP team hold a special place in my heart. They are the warmest, friendliest, most caring team I have come across and nothing is too much trouble. Our memory photo books are so special, particularly to Mary. Mary takes them to bed with her every night and they are always with her if she has to go into hospital for prolonged seizures. The Family Memorable Days are so nurturing and special. The volunteers are amazing and engage beautifully with my girls. The days feel carefree and safe and give us much needed precious family time where all of my children are celebrated.
Donna, Mary's Mum

"To have these beautiful family memories forever means more to me than I can put into words"
I can't thank you enough for this wonderful experience. Sophie is one of the most complex children in the North West and has battled more things in her short life than most people wouldn't battle in a lifetime. To have these beautiful family memories forever means more to me than I can put into words.
Sara, Sophie's Mum
Learn more about the work we do!
Many families are supporting and caring for a child who has a life limiting health condition, which means opportunities to have special memories captured can be limited. Bringing families together can provide great support and encouragement and can improve overall mental well being.
